Paintings on the theme "Things".
Things surround us for our whole lives. They become our everyday companions, we organize them, they remember us certain memories and emotions, they change with our point of view and grow old with us. In the following paintings and prints I slowly concentrated not only on the visual form of objects on my table, but on the relation between what I know about the thing (and what I think about at the moment) and how I see the objects.
The most of these observations happened on my work table. An intimate territory. I was watching how my mind take the object to pieces, how it analyzes and "sees" different materials inside them (glass, metal, wood). In some objects there was water inside. Sometimes the things were covered with images of other situations and people I was thinking about. I sketched these attributes of things like through different filters. With growing unbelief in verity of what I see the content of things disappeared and they became mere objects, mere white mass that blocks the real perception. That was the background of the "white still-lives". These still-lives were painted just with white gouache. Afterwards I developed this theme in prints. I used an original graphic technique of an intaglio print from a surface of a painting. Every object in the still-life was represented just with one "transparent" layer of the paint. You can see through the empty things.
